Investing in Earth

Why are you afraid? Why do you panic?
Your soul plunged downward to live in an earthly realm, to enwrap herself in a body of flesh and blood, willingly and with purpose.
What emboldened her? What drew her to squeeze
into the straitjacket of time and space?

It was neither fear, nor dread, nor panic.
It was the knowledge that here below
is a beauty the highest of angels cannot touch

Care for yourself, for your family, for your fellow human beings and our lovely planet earth,
not out of fear, nor from distress,

but out of love and awe
for the beauty within
that we came to uncover.

If you want to do something wrong

"If you want to do something wrong, you instinctively feel you
should hide, so as not to be caught and punished. And if you want
to do something good, you think it is fine to be seen! Some
people, out of vanity, even flaunt themselves, thus provoking
opposition and arousing spite and jealousy. If you are thinking
of making someone a gift, again, be careful: it might be better
if there were no witnesses. And sometimes it would even be
preferable for the person you are benefiting not to know where it
came from, for your gesture may provoke unexpected reactions from
them.
In all your dealings with others, try to take into account the
complex relationship between each person’s lower and higher
natures."

Whole and Half

To become one with another person,
you must first recognize that you are only half.

To become one with the Infinite, you must give Him your all,
knowing always that it is but a broken half.

No manifestation can exist in isolation

"No manifestation (whether of an event, an action, a feeling, a
wish or a thought) can exist in isolation, with no connection to
any other phenomena. Every manifestation has a cause and produces
effects of greater or lesser importance and distance in time. You
can observe this habitually in your everyday life. Suppose you
have had a good day, but now, just as you are going to bed,
something happens that makes you feel sad or discouraged. On
waking the next day, you notice that everything good you
experienced the day before has been erased, to be replaced by
what you experienced as you went to sleep, and you are left with
the painful impression.
You will say, ‘But how is it possible for that unpleasant moment
to erase a whole day spent in harmony and peace?’ Well, it is
precisely because nothing remains without consequence, and
anything uncomfortable experienced at the end of one day will
make itself felt into the next if you do nothing to neutralize
it. So, beware; watch your state of mind when you are about to
fall asleep."

What are your children?

"What are your children? They are the dreams, thoughts and
feelings you had in the past which you have now made flesh and
bone. If you do not know who you were in the past, then look at
your children; they will tell you, ‘Watch, we have come to teach
you many things about yourself.’ If you want to know the truth
about people, you have to look at their children.
You may say you are not married and have no children. Again, you
are mistaken. Your deeds can also be seen as your children, and
so you are bringing children into the world every day. Jesus said
you can recognize a tree by its fruit. If your fruit is sharp,
bitter, acidic, it proves that your inner mother (your heart) and
your inner father (your mind) are defective. A deed is a child
that can only be divine if the father and mother have conceived
it divinely.  "

There can be no evolution without prior involution

"There can be no evolution without prior involution. Thus what
science calls the ‘evolution of species’ has to have been
preceded by a movement of involution. This is true for creatures,
and it is true also for matter. Before the evolution of matter
came the involution of spirit. The advocates of evolution have
only observed things from the outside, from the perspective of
the organization of matter, without taking into account the
invisible forces that had previously worked on it.
Evolution is only half of a process of manifestation. Observing
it in isolation cuts it off from the truth of life. Taken in
isolation, this process has no place in nature. You cannot prove
that evolution is possible without assuming the existence of a
prior impulse, which activated it and continues to sustain it.
And this impulse comes from above. It was spirit that came down
first, and if we see matter evolving, it is because it is being
carried upward by the movement of the spirit raising it back up
to its place of origin."

New Rules Of A Global World

History shows that ultimately not a single dictator brought his nation anything good, but only suffering. Thereby they pushed the world toward development. Today, however, our state is completely different: We live in a global world.
Previously, the world existed due to the very top of the pyramid, the individual personalities endowed with unlimited sovereign power, and everything run according to their word. A few hundred years ago, such rulers were still able to make beneficial decisions. But today, in a global world, if someone tries to put into practice his personal opinion, he will only acknowledge his own ignorance.
It’s because in a global world, decisions cannot be made by a single ruler or government, or even by governments gathering together. Nothing will come out of it! One has to be familiar with the general system, while a president is not; he is a bigger egoist than anyone else (this is why he became a president in the first place).
Hence, not a single ruler or government will be successful: They will come to power, keep hold of it for a few years, and fall. This will happen throughout the world. We will see that governments will degenerate more and more. One day millions will come out onto the streets, as it is happening in Egypt now, and the government will collapse.
Why can’t the government defend itself, where is the army? Its glory days are over, it doesn’t work this way anymore because the world manifests as an integral, global system, and the people below no longer obediently accept everything that the ruler says from above.
Today the world operates based on different principles, while we do not acknowledge this yet. No rulers will help us, no matter who comes into power. In previous times, the rulers advanced the world through suffering, yet they nevertheless advanced it. For instance, Alexander the Great wanted to introduce Greek culture into the entire world and had scientists and advisers assist him. He had an entire program of what he wanted to do with the world. But today, advancement due to a ruler is no longer possible.

Mankind will come to a state when it will be faced with a question:

"Mankind will come to a state when it will be faced with a question: What can we do to be equal? In truth, only when everyone feels equal, a person can feel that he or she is the head of the government, makes decisions, and is important."

M.Laitman

The End of The Slave Generation

Today we have come up against the new generation, which can do anything only if it understands, feels, decides, and agrees with what has to be done. Otherwise it won’t do anything. We also see this by the events that are now happening all over the world. A new wave is rising, or in other words, a new level of the common soulis awakening in all of humanity.
The modern generation is contraindicative of a morally-righteous upbringing which threatens a person and forces moral teachings on him, telling him, “Look at us as an example and act the same way.” This is not enough for the young generation. They will not take this path. On the contrary, they will copy the worst examples and won’t be able to have a grip on themselves so as to abide by your wonderful models.
The new generation won’t accept anything just because that’s how it has to be. Even though a child absorbs many things automatically, still, if we raise the modern kids by reward and punishment, it won’t work. That’s because egoism grows from one day to the next and you won’t be able to withstand it. Therefore, habit will become second nature to them.
Right before our very eyes a new nature is maturing inside children, and it demands that you hand them a method. You want to give a child ready-made results that he will implement like a small machine that you operate where he looks at you and repeats everything. But that won’t work. Children see right through you. They are constantly studying and analyzing you. You are completely transparent to them.
We have to understand that this generation requires a very rational and logical method that it could understand and then use according to that understanding.

The slave generation has ended, or the generation of machines that were personified even by Charlie Chaplin. Today we have to think about how to give the youth an explanation of the process of development, reality and their place in it, the goal, the path of governance, and the opportunities standing before every person.
In short, it is necessary to show a person the limits within which he really is a free creature. The new generation is very different from us and therefore we shouldn’t develop methods to train them so they would obediently stay close by, but a method of passing on wisdom according to a person’s age. Then children will use and realize this wisdom through their behavior, and then all that will remain for us to do is to check whether we have given it to them correctly. We will see this by the results.
In the past education and upbringing were based on reward and punishment. Children were stuffed into different boundaries and held on a short leash. They were told, “This is how you have to act.” But today this won’t work because the Creator requires us to reach the realization of evil, the understanding of what happens in life. We have to learn to control ourselves according to the importance of the goal. This is a person’s independent work.
The soul has no age. It doesn’t matter in whom it awakens, an adult or a child. We have to understand that we are obligated to provide a method of correction for the young and the old so they would grow only by it.

Bridge

If you want to build a bridge to God, you must also build bridges with the people in your life—friends and foes included.  You cannot obtain one without the other.
Y. Berg

Darkness can cause irrational fear

"Darkness can cause irrational fear – a wolf, a burglar, a
murderer might suddenly appear! But it can also be the cause of a
rational fear – when you can’t see anything, you always run the
danger of bumping into something, of falling and hurting
yourself.
The more their intelligence and wisdom develops, the more people
become not exactly fearful in the usual sense of the word, but
alert. And at the same time their boldness increases too – their
intellectual, mental boldness. They mistrust what comes from
instinct or feeling, for these can cloud their vision, but when
it is a question of something clear and straightforward, they
become bold. This is why truly intelligent and educated people
are bolder than others. They make their way into regions where
most never dare to venture, and it is light that gives them this
boldness."

"Why do people tend to point up the faults of others?

"Why do people tend to point up the faults of others? Why torment
men and women who are struggling in the midst of so many
difficulties? The strangest thing is that in criticizing others,
people think they are proving their own insightfulness, wisdom
and even love. You will object that those who spare the rod spoil
the child, as the saying goes, and that chastising begins with
criticism. No, in many cases, love does not involve criticizing,
and nor does wisdom. To love others is to understand their
difficulties and act sensitively to alleviate their suffering,
while criticism tends rather to graze, scratch and wound. It is
no longer love but carnage. True love is not stained with blood;
it is great and luminous. Through it you connect to God, and God
advises you on the best ways to deal with others.
What is good criticism? It is like the work of a good gardener,
who knows how to cut the trees, prune them, straighten them and
rid them of caterpillars and harmful insects. A good gardener
preserves what is good, and soon magnificent flowers and fruit
appear."

In Trouble Together

(Once, I came home to find my children climbing into the attic through a hole in the ceiling --an act I had sternly forbidden due to the dangers involved. But I watched before I opened my mouth. It took four of them: Two to lift one up and another to hold the chair those two were standing on. It was then that I understood something I had heard my teacher say many times:)
When a father sees his children working together with love, he is prepared to forgive them for anything. Better harmonious troublemaking than acrimonious obedience.

human being is a part of a whole

“A human being is a part of a whole, called by us universe, a part limited
in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as
something separated from the rest ... a kind of optical delusion of his
consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to
our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our
task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of
compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its
beauty.”

There is, of course, the misplaced argument that humanity has advanced
dramatically in the areas of technology, medicine, the physical sciences,
etc. Such an approach merely avoids the prime issues, to wit: In what
manner have any of these advances actually improved how human
beings relate to each other? With these advances, why do we still
experience war, famine, terrorism, natural disasters, increased drug
abuse, and the seemingly inexplicable levels of brutality that humans
manage to suffer upon each other? Why do these events occur? Is there a

Who Owns Truth

A sharp mind will find a truth for itself.
A humble spirit will find a truth higher than itself.
Truth is not the property of intellectuals, but of those who know how to escape their own selves.

When will people understand that they are not separate individuals

"When will people understand that they are not separate
individuals but form a part of the great body of God, of which
they each represent one cell? So, when they behave badly towards
their neighbours, thinking that they are strangers, foreign to
them, and can be mistreated with impunity, they are mistaken. The
truth is that there is a connection between all living creatures,
as there is between all the cells of the physical body. When we
harm others, we are harming ourselves too, even if we feel
nothing at the time. In the same way, when we are good to them,
we are also being good to ourselves.
I expect you have had this experience – if someone you love
suffers or someone hits them, it is as if you yourself had
received the blows, and if something happens to make them happy,
you rejoice as though it had happened to you. Why? Because
instinctively, intuitively, you entered into an awareness of
oneness. And this very awareness is the basis of all true
morality.   "

Do your best to live today well

"Do your best to live today well, for tomorrow does not yet exist,
and by worrying about it, it is as if you are throwing yourself
into empty space, and you are likely to lose yourself. It is
today you must work on, for today does not die; it just gets
longer, until it becomes tomorrow.
Jesus said, ‘Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will
bring worries of its own.’ This tells us we have to meditate on
the idea of duration, of continuity. A chainmaker has to check
each link for strength, for if a single link is weak and breaks
it makes no difference that the others are holding fast – the
whole chain is broken. So we must live each day according to the
divine laws and make this day into a strong link so that the
chain does not break. Today is a new link that must be added to
the others, and it is this link we must concentrate on."

All or No One

No man can claim to have reached the ultimate truth
as long as there is another who has not.

No one is redeemed
until we are all redeemed.

Ultimate truth is an unlimited light
-and if it is unlimited,
how could it shine in one person's realm
and not in another's?

Fragments

We are all fragments of greater souls, and those souls fragments of even more lofty ones, and so on with those-until we all link back to the one primordial soul: the soul of Adam.
None of us is complete. No one can stand on his or her own. What one is lacking the other fulfills; where one excels, another is wanting.
Only together can we find oneness in our own selves. Only together can we be a fit vessel for the One Above to be revealed.

T. Freeman

Two Ones

In two ways, we are one: In our essence, and in our character.
In our essence, we are all one soul, with one source.
In our character, we are all complimentary of each other, none of us complete, each one contributing what the other lacks, each one adding his touch of perfection to his fellow. Like a massive jigsaw puzzle, we fit together to make a single perfect whole.
None of us is perfect without all the rest of us.
And all the rest of us are incomplete when a single individual is missing.
