The World At Your Feet

Why are the lives of the sages filled with miracles?
Whoever opens his mind to Truth and labors over it day and night, he is the awakened mind of the cosmos--for through him the Infinite Light enters this world. And so, nature bows to him, the angels wait upon him and everything is arranged to serve his mission.

Faith & Experience

Faith is not the result of experience.
On the contrary, faith is an act that comes from within andcreates experience.
Things happen because you trust they will.

Normal Miracles

These things people call amazing coincidences, synchronicity, small miracles -- this is the way the world is supposed to work.
It is only that the world is in slumber, like a sleeping person who does not see, does not hear, does not speak -- so that nothing distinguishes his head from his feet, his heart from his brain. So too, the world lies deep in a dream where anything is possible, but nothing seems to have a goal. Where only chaos reigns.
It takes only one person to open his eyes, his ears, his mind and his heart and the objects of this world fall into place and work together as a single whole. Synchronized. As they were meant to be.

Miraculous Failure

An open miracle is somewhat of a disappointment for God.
Once all is said and done, He got His way only by ignoring the norms of our lower world, by breaking His own rules.
If He can perform miracles only by bullying Nature, He may as well concede that our world is a place the Infinite Light does not belong.

So He also makes another sort of miracle-the sort that blends seamlessly into the order of things below.
These are impossible miracles: They break no rules, but change everything.

In truth, they are the most awesome of miracles-these that reveal the Infinite unrestrained within the nature of everyday things.

Laughing

"Laughing does not necessarily mean being carefree, frivolous and
irresponsible. Laughing can actually have a more beneficial
effect on the mind than wearing a serious, reflective expression,
which many think makes them look wise. This is because laughter
has a lively energy that nourishes the brain.
Laughing also helps you to get back on your feet, to bounce
back. It’s true that everyone’s life has events that are no
laughing matter to begin with, and it is normal to be worried and
upset about them initially, but if you get used to seeing the
funny side of certain situations it makes it easier for you not
to become overwhelmed. So, never miss a chance to laugh, for it
is a powerful way of maintaining your equanimity and easing
situations. Just because you have reasons for being upset, sad
and discouraged does not mean you should be willing to remain in
that state. "

With everything you undertake, try to begin well

"With everything you undertake, try to begin well, for the way the
process unfolds will depend on what you put in place at the
beginning. Yes, but to put a good beginning in place you must
already have been able to finish properly what came before. This
rule applies in all areas of life.
When you begin a task, try to give it the same attention, the
same care, all the way through. Also when you form new
friendships, new relationships, stay aware, so that what began
with smiles, warm words, gifts and embraces does not end in
confrontations. For, anything that ends badly affects future
encounters and undertakings."

Be aware that the spoken word is powerful and effective

"Adults claim to love their children and be concerned about their
upbringing, but they do not always know how to behave with them,
and in particular they are not careful in the way they speak to
them. So many parents and educators constantly tell them they are
useless, stupid, and so on, and the children, influenced by
suggestion, as if hypnotized, after a while really do become
stupid and incompetent.
Be aware that the spoken word is powerful and effective, and
what parents say to their children can affect them badly, block
them and frighten them. To make them comply or keep quiet, is it
really necessary to threaten them with the wolf, the policeman,
the devil or who knows what? These children could well feel under
threat and insecure for the rest of their lives; this could
explain certain neuroses in adults. There are many things adults
need to correct about their attitude toward children; otherwise,
what they call an upbringing will really only be a bringing down."

Reason & Faith

Don't imagine that you can escape faith.
Every science, every system of logic, has its axioms.
Reason cannot move one step forward without some assumption upon which to base itself.

Do not worry about someone taking your place.

"Do not worry about someone taking your place. No one can take
another’s place. We each have our place in the universe, because
God has made us unique beings, endowed with a specific vibration.
On the physical plane, of course, unjust, dishonest people can
succeed in ousting others, but on the spiritual plane this cannot
happen. The place God gives each one of us is absolutely the one
we deserve. In this domain there is absolute justice.
No one creature is able to take another’s place, but each must
develop to the point where it attains the perfection God
envisaged for it. Even if others have a more important part to
play, it rules where it is, because God gave it that place. By
virtue of being alive, each creature secretes a quintessence of
itself, which is specific to it. No other creature can take its
place; it remains unique and irreplaceable for all eternity."

Human beings have descended from the heavenly regions

"Human beings have descended from the heavenly regions through a
process known as involution. During this descent into matter, as
they drew further and further away from the primordial fire they
took on bodies of increasing density, right down to the physical
body, just like in winter, when we are faced with the cold and
have to wear increasingly thick clothing, from a vest and shirt
through to an overcoat!
Now, on the way up again, human beings must undress,
symbolically speaking, that is, strip away anything that weighs
them down: instead of seeking to amass, they must learn to
renounce, cut loose and free themselves. Amassing encourages
descent. Any thought, feeling or wish inspired by the instinct to
possess clings to the subtle bodies like frost clinging to the
branches in winter. The spring sunshine has to return so that the
frost can melt and humans can recover their true being."

everything that exists in heaven has a correspondence on earth

"You should have it firmly in mind that everything that exists in
heaven has a correspondence on earth, because earth is a
reflection of heaven. Yes, just a reflection, and if you really
want to know fulfilment, which is a state of the soul and spirit,
you must look for it not on earth but in heaven.
Humans are spirits that have come from heaven, and to be able to
work on the physical plane they have had to enter a body. The
physical body is to the human spirit what the universe is to God.
Yes, the universe, nature, represents God’s physical body. God
has a body formed of numerous centres and organs, and our body is
in the image of God’s. But our body can only come to life if it
is inhabited by the spirit. The spirit is the manifestation of
the presence of God within us. When the spirit goes, it takes
consciousness, life, with it, and all that remains in the body
are the physical elements, which eventually disintegrate. To
remain alive, the body, the earth, must never sever their
connection with the spirit, with heaven. "

‘Let the dead bury their own dead.’

"Do your best to consider only people’s divine nature, their soul
and spirit; it is this nature you must serve. Don’t concern
yourself with satisfying the whims of their limited, selfish
lower nature. You will say, ‘Yes, but if I don’t give in to
people’s wishes at home, or among my friends or at work, I will
cause nothing but upset.’ Let them be annoyed; continue to love
and serve only their divine aspect!
Jesus said, ‘Let the dead bury their own dead.’ How should these
words be interpreted? What are these dead? They are in fact
people’s lower nature. The lower nature, the personality, should
be classed with the dead, and if we try so hard to please and
satisfy all its whims, we ourselves end up dying. Jesus did not
mean the dead in the cemeteries; they are where they should be,
and only their bodies are dead, while their soul is alive. The
dead Jesus speaks of are people who have no spiritual life,
because they give in too much to their lower nature, and you must
not waste your time and energy pleasing them."

The truths of Initiatic Science

"The truths of Initiatic Science often reappear in some form or
other as rules or customs instituted by humans, which last at
least for a time. One example of this is the right of sanctuary.
In olden times, if someone guilty of a crime was being pursued
and was able to enter the sanctuary of a god, they came under the
protection of that god, and no one had the right to seize them.
The custom still existed in the Middle Ages when, of course, the
churches served as refuges, which can still happen today. This
tradition is based on knowledge concerning the spiritual life:
anyone who succeeds in finding refuge in God, despite being
pursued by inner or outer enemies, finds safety. While they
remain on high, on the peaks of the soul and the spirit, their
pursuers are kept at bay."

Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect

"Jesus said, ‘Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect’. Even
if divine perfection is an ideal we humans cannot achieve, we
must work to build our lives on this basic thought. It is very
important to have a basic thought around which all our other
thoughts gravitate; it is the framework holding up the whole
edifice.
So make divine perfection your primary consideration. Then, the
various thoughts that pull you in all directions and weaken you
will find their master; they will be forced to submit and to take
part in your inner work of regeneration. Every foreign thought
trying to enter you will be captured and placed in the service of
the divine world as you decide. Any animals wanting to trample
the flowers in your inner garden will have to submit to this
basic thought; it will open the door only to the beings of light
from the invisible world, which will come to work on you."
