Building a house

"You set about building a house: a few weeks or months later,
there it is for all to see. But if you decide to create something
in the spiritual domain, no one, not even you, can see it. So,
faced with no apparent result you become assailed by doubts, and
at times you are tempted to abandon everything and involve
yourself, like anybody else, in an activity where the results can
be seen and felt. Do as you wish, but one day, amid even the
greatest success, you will feel something is missing inside. Why?
Because despite your many activities you have not touched what is
most important; you have not yet planted anything in the world of
light, wisdom, love, power and eternity.
One day, you will understand that your only real creations are
the inner ones, for they are the only ones that have their roots
in you. When you leave for the other world, you will have
precious stones – qualities and virtues – to take with you in
your soul, your heart and your spirit, and your name will be
written in the book of eternal life."

Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

We automatically associate good with God.

"We automatically associate good with God. It isn’t like that;
good, like evil, is only a servant of God. God is not what is
good; he is infinitely more than that. So stop wondering why he
allows evil to exist. God allows everything, and that is because
he uses everything.
And you too must understand how to use evil in the work you do,
just like chemists, who discard nothing, because they know how to
make use of all the products in their laboratory, even poisons –
everything is needed in a laboratory. So we must model ourselves
on the chemist. Since our inner laboratory contains both pure and
impure, light and dark, elements that lift us up and others that
drag us down, we should learn to use everything to achieve God’s
plans. Be thankful that heaven created you just as you are, and
set to work!"

Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

The universe is a living, intelligent, organized whole, and, most importantly, it is organized hierarchically.

"The universe is a living, intelligent, organized whole, and, most
importantly, it is organized hierarchically. Yes, hierarchically,
from the densest, darkest regions to the divine world, which is
pure light. And if humans encounter so many difficulties and are
exposed to so much suffering, it is because they have not found
the right attitude to have towards this cosmic hierarchy, which
has God at its pinnacle.
But what is an attitude? A synthesis of what we are. It shows
the state of our physical body but also of our psychic and
spiritual bodies, as well as the quality of the energies
circulating and working inside us. Our attitude fashions us,
shapes us; it connects us to the different regions of space, and
when it is an attitude of respect, love and, above all,
gratitude, it attracts to us the currents and spirits of the
world of light."

Close & Dark

When is the moon dark to us? When it is closest to the sun.
At its closest point, it disappears altogether. Then, once again, it is renewed and begins to shine.
At those points in life when we peer into darkness, groping for some clue why this is happening to us, where this is taking us, why this must happen to us.
-those are the points of closeness to the light, the points of renewal.

T. Freeman

High Souls

To one whose self is his body, death of the body is death of the self. But for one whose self is his love, awe and faith, there is no death, only a passing. From a state of confinement to the body he makes the passage to liberation. He continues to work within this world, and even more so than before.

(...........)

Yes, in our eyes we see death. A body is buried in the ground and we must mourn the loss. But this is only part of the falseness of our world. In the World of Truth they are still here as before. And the proof: We are still here. For if these high souls would not be with us in our world, all that we know would cease to exist.

Young children spontaneously intuit that the world around them is alive

"Young children spontaneously intuit that the world around them is
alive: stones, plants and animals speak to them, and they speak
back. But when they tell adults what they see or hear, they
really feel they are not taken seriously: adults smile and make
fun of them. And even if they don’t make that much fun of them,
their materialistic attitude eventually rubs off on the children,
and then they have truly lost for good what is most important.
Yes, what is most important. For it is a great mistake to think
that humans are the only really live, intelligent beings in a
universe devoid of soul and language.
All of nature is alive and intelligent; it is inhabited by
innumerable live, intelligent creatures, some much more
intelligent even than humans. And as soon as humans start to deny
this intelligence and this aliveness, blindness and death begin
to set in inside them."

Supermind

Intellect can orbit about the truth forever, but it has no feet to land.
There is a faculty, however, that doesn't need to travel to find Truth;
for which Truth was never hidden or obscured.
For it is a native of Truth from its birth.
It is not blind faith. It is an inner vision.
It is not mind, but even more essential to our very being.
It is the foundation from which meaningful thought begins and with it all things resolve. For it knows intimately that at which the mind can only peer through the shifting clouds.
T. Freeman

Anyone wishing to progress on the path of evolution must give priority to the spirit, to light.

"Anyone wishing to progress on the path of evolution must give
priority to the spirit, to light. But in order to do so, they
have to at least feel they need to. Unfortunately you cannot
conjure up the need; you are either born with it or not,
depending on the life you led in other incarnations. If a being
comes into the world with a taste for spirituality, it will take
very little, just a book or a few words, to provide an
unstoppable impulse. Whereas, for a different person, even if the
greatest initiates are there to give them explanations and
advice, it won’t make any difference. As long as they harbour
tendencies that take them in quite a different direction, that is
where they will go.
So that you can enter your next incarnation with this need to
live the life of the spirit, you should, as from today, at least
make an effort to understand the benefits of doing so. Even if
you do not have much of a taste for it, begin to prepare the
ground. When you come back, your work will be easier, because you
will already have sown a few seeds."

Waking Up God

A spark of God slumbers within, as a flame hushed within the embers.
Will she awaken from ideas? They are only more dreams to sleep by.
Will she awaken from deep thoughts? Their depth will not reach her.
She will awaken when she sees her Beloved, the Essence of All Things with which she is one.
And where will she see Him? Not in ideas, not in deep thoughts, but in a Godly deed that she will do, in an act of infinite beauty.
Then her flame will burn bright.

A Quiet Heart

The human heart is beautiful.
The human heart can know secrets deeper than any mind could fathom.
The mind cannot contain G-d,
but deep inside the heart there is a place for Him.

Yet there is nothing more dysfunctional than a brain controlled by its heart. Indeed, the finest mind is capable of the most horrid crimes when under the management of the heart.
Let the heart be quiet and hear out the mind. In that quiet listening, she will discover her true beauty and her deepest secrets will awaken.

A Real Fool

To live with the Infinite, you must be a fool.
A fool who does good with simple sincerity
and disregard for worldly opinion.

Learn from this world we live in:
The world is a fool-only that it is a mindless, stupid fool.

You be a fool who reaches beyond the mind.

God is everywhere in the universe he himself created.

"God is everywhere in the universe he himself created. And yet he
is separate from the universe. To shed light on this notion, we
can use an image, that of the snail. The snail’s body is tender
and soft, while its shell is hard. At first sight, the snail
seems to have nothing in common with its shell. Yet, the snail
itself secreted it, and the shell has gradually grown, because
the snail’s etheric body, which penetrates the tiny cracks, has
pushed the particles of matter apart.
The snail is separate from its shell but secreted it itself and
made it bigger. And in the same way, God is not the universe, but
he created it as a fluidic emanation of himself, which then
condensed to form worlds, constellations and galaxies. To keep
the universe evolving, God tirelessly continues to permeate it
with his life. So the universe, which is alive, transforms itself
as a result of the life of the Lord, but the Lord is a separate
entity. He is everywhere in the universe but not one with it."

A Little Smarter

If God were only a little smarter than me,
He wouldn't be my God.

T.Freeman

The Escape Hatch

All of us need a small hatch through which we can climb out of our little spaceship once in a while. So we can look at ourselves from the outside and see what is good and what needs repair and what could be put to better use. So we can look beyond ourselves and see how we compare to the vast universe. And then we can grow.
In fact, we all have just such a hatch. We don't use it much, however. Because we are so fearful of leaving our comfortable, well-defined selves and venturing into the vast Beyond.
T.Freeman

Being Not That

Be simple. In whatever you do, in whatever form you take, in whatever you decide you are, retain memory that you are not that.

T.Freeman

Mental Limits

Just as wisdom is not something you can touch with your hands, so Godliness is not something you can grasp with your mind.
The mind cannot experience God. G-d is not an idea. God is real.
God is better found through inspired deeds than by inspiring thoughts.
T. Freeman

Snake Poison

Without its poison, the snake is no more and no less than any other of God's creatures. Whether it be the snake of hatred, of greed, of indifference, of jealousy, of pride, of any foul aspect of human character--they are only evil because of their poison, the poison of "I exist."
Because when "I exist," there is no room left for any other being in the world to exist.
Without the "I", even jealousy and pride can be glorious animals, driving a person to greater good.
T.Freeman

Mind and Heart

See how beautifully mind and heart complement one another:
The heart is an extremist; unbridled, it will allow a single emotion to fill its entire space. But the mind finds balance and harmony, even between opposites.
The mind is cold and aloof. Reality, to the mind, is but a curiosity. But the heart lives in a real world, moved by even the slightest touch.
When the heart listens to the vision of the mind, it too learns to carry a counterpoint of voices, even the voices of other hearts. When the mind listens to the depths of the heart, then its vision can go out and change the world.
