Everyone, during the course of their life

"Everyone, during the course of their life, tries to fulfil their
desires and ambitions. For the sake of wealth, beauty, knowledge,
power, glory, and so on, they will expend their energy, their
time and their health. But once the goal has been achieved, what
happens? After a moment of satisfaction, they lose all interest
in what they have acquired. Yes, this often happens: once they
have acquired something, it no longer carries the aura it had
when it was only a wish, and so dissatisfaction and emptiness set
in.
The only way of avoiding the feelings of dissatisfaction and
emptiness that follow when we achieve our desires is to go in
search of something distant, so distant it is always beyond our
reach. This far off, inaccessible goal, which is beyond all
things and contains everything, we call God. On the path we must
travel to draw closer to him, we find love, wisdom, beauty,
strength and riches, without ever exhausting ourselves in futile
searching. "
